blogging in haitiDecember 7, 2008 ok, here’s the plan:
tomorrow morning (monday) i’ll be jumping on a plan from Houston to Miami, then Miami to Port-Au-Prince. while in PAP, we’ll hang out with the Livesays The Cook the Thief His Wife & Her Lover release Payback: Straight Up – The Director’s Cut movie The Matador dvd for the day and night, then on Tuesday morning we’ll head out to see Licia, Lori, and the kids! We have a lot of cool things planned, and i’m sure there will be stories to tell. I’m trying to blog about the experience while i’m there. i know Licia and Lori have internet, so i’ll do my best to get some stories and photos up while we’re there. we’re planning to visit Amos’ grandfather, which involves climbing a mountain to remote little village where he lives. i can’t wait. many of you have asked if this is when we get to bring our children home to the USA. the answer is no. this is just a visit, a chance to hang out with them. we’re trying to have one of us visit Haiti at least once every three months. Amos is starting to recognize and look forward to Jamie’s arrivals each time (she’s been alot more times than i have), so it’s really important for us to do our best to get down there as often as we can. each time we’re there, i know God will burden us even more to respond to needs and share the stories of this somewhat forgotten country only 3 hours from our soil. as far as our kids, we still have a long journey ahead of us… this is just a short visit to hang out and love on our kids. In the Valley of Elah movie True Lies movie download thanks for the prayers. i was at a men’s retreat this weekend, and had so many guys come up and mention that their families were praying for us and our Haitian children. it’s humbling to know that so many are concerned, praying, and walking through this process with us (even if it is through blogland!). we are humbled by it, and honestly i’ll never get tired of answering questions about the process… because the questions show that people are caring and involved. so THANK YOU. we hope you’ll continue to pray for us this week as we’re in Haiti! also, please pray for Licia and Lori and the Livesays who are spending themselves for the sake of the gospel in Haiti.
