date night

March 8, 2010

jamie and I realized it’s been a full week since we’ve actually hung out together. that’s so NOT right. she was gone all of last week. then I was out all weekend with the band and at The Stone.  so tonight was a much needed date night.  we went to an east side mexican restaurant, then Book People before calling it a night.  it was fantastic.  we’re a part of a date night co-op if you will.  four of us families trade off keeping each other’s kids each monday night.  so, you’re guaranteed three free date nights every month.  then, the fourth monday night you have all 13 kids at your house.  (yes, you read that correctly…13)

sounds like it worked out ok tonight.  all our kids are fast asleep now in their own beds.  good to reconnect and be reminded how kind God is to give me such a beautiful and fantastic wife.

this week is another crazy week.  lots going on.  i should blog more, i know.

working on a lot of new music these days.  working on scheduling another Spring House Tour.  working on some co-writing sessions with other dudes around town i really respect.  and trying my best to be a great father and husband in the middle of all that.

oh, in other news… don’t put gasoline in a diesel van.  it’s bad. really bad. i’ll leave it at that.

Dude, you’ve inspired me to try to form some sort of co-op like that for sharing child care while we go invest in our marriage. Thanks!

You guys should totally pay the Janssens to convert the van to veggie while they’re here (they’re out here for about two months). Then you can paint across the side – “The Aaron Ivey band is fueled by Kung Pao chicken”
