full weekDecember 1, 2008 in 1 week, i’ll be getting off a plane in Port-Au-Prince, Haiti to hang out with my kids. in the meantime, it’s going to be a crazy-full week. last night we did one of the last LIVE THE STORY sets at Gateway Community Church in south Houston. thanks to everyone for coming out — and thanks to those that helped release 5 children from poverty. we have one more LIVE THE STORY show in a few days at Jersey Village Baptist Church in Houston. it’s been a great Fall, as we’ve shared the message of living out the story of the gospel to those around us in need.
we’re shifting direction a bit this month, as we do a couple of house shows called Coffee & Compassion. we still have few nights open for these, if you’d like to host one of these nights at your house with your friends or small group. you can email me, if you’d like to set something up.download hybrid A Few Good Men movie download Killer Klowns from Outer Space hd Leave a Reply |

Ok, let me preface this by saying I’m not against traveling to countries or spending money on vacations…
Having said that…Yesterday I was watching the travel channel and the lady (can’t remember her name) went to Haiti on a cruise. I couldn’t help but think how we can be so focused on ourselves that we miss the hurting people around us. They showed all the beautiful touristy things that Haiti has to offer, which I’m sure it is beautiful. I couldn’t help but think of all the posts you and Bush have about the poverty and other atrocities that go on there. Again, I’m not against vacations or anything like that, but I just couldn’t help but think how she could be there with so much need and lack and only see the good things.
How can we as a society pick and choose to be so ignorant that we forget about the people who need us. I long for the day when we wake up and realize that this world doesn’t revolve around us as individuals. It is only when we take the focus off of us that we begin to see the love of God that is poured out on the poor and forgotten.
I love Psalm 27:10— When my father and my mother forsake me, then the LORD will take me up.
May we not forget about others in spite of our selfishness.
Sorry for the rant, but I’m thankful that you and Bush have helped open my eyes to the need in the world.
