Saturday Story UpdateOctober 31, 2009 Well, if you hadn’t heard we are back at home after a lot of days in the hospital, doctors visits, and tests. Story seems to be feeling a bit better. She’s still very uncomfortable in her new surroundings…everything is different…people, sites, smells, food, weather…everything. It will take her a while! But she was laughing at papa today, so that was pretty sweet. As far as her health…here’s where we stand. Our pediatrician is amazing, first of all. And the doctors at Dell Children’s have been very thorough in taking nearly ever test in the book. Also, Fedna’s doctor (Dr. Ronan) has been really gracious in calling to check in on Story and watching her progress pretty closely. There are a lot of doctors taking a lot of concern in Story’s case. That’s been great. You know she has viral meningitis and that’s actually gone pretty well…she doesn’t have the same symptoms anymore. Now, our major concern is her lack of leg use. She can’t stand, or walk, and barely crawls. She can’t put any pressure or weight on her legs. (2 weeks ago, she was running around like a normal 2 year old…1 day before she left Haiti she sorta stopped walking) So, that’s the major concern. If we try to stand her up, even holding her arms, she collapses without even being able to stand for a second. Bone scans & X-rays came back looking normal. On Monday, we’ll be going back to our pediatrician, seeing an orthepedic surgeon and possibly doing an MRI on her spine. The Perfect Storm ipod download Half Baked movie That’s the current scoop. We are SO grateful for everyone’s concerns, prayers, meals, emails, etc… it’s been beautiful to be loved and cared for by the body of Christ. We’ll keep you guys posted. Been reading your blog for a long time and never commented, but I wonder if they checked her for rheumatic fever? I know of people who had it when they were kids and it’s very hard to walk….it’s like a sore throat gone wrong, it’s caused by strep bacteria or something….. Just throwing that out there, maybe it will help.
God bless you guys and glad she’s home!

I just came across your blog. My daughter had Osteomioloitis in her foot when she was 14 months. All tests, etc. came back normal, but when we saw an orthopedic surgeon he found the Osteomiolitis. The sympotoms seem to be the same that Sotry is experencing. Just wanted to let you know so maybe you can speak with the doctors about this. If you want more info from me feel free to email. Also, I think the blog I got to yours from said you lived in Texas. So do we. Where abouts are you?
